If you ever used a search engine, you probably came across sites, which fearure all the words exactly from your search query. However, when you click on the page URL in search results, the actual text is just random words that make no sense.
This is called auto-generated content, which is scam. Did you know you could report such sites?
Actually, that is your netizen’s duty to report scam sites. Auto-generated sites fill their pages with keyword from search engine results. Their single goal is to rank high in the search engine results list and thus lure the users into clicking them. This organic traffic is very easy to monetize through AdSense or other partnership programs.
Of course, Google is strictly against such fraudulent sites, and provides tools to report them.
To report a keyword rich nonsense auto-generated site, login to your Google Webmasters account in you have one or register for free, if you don’t.
Go to and click Report webspam.
Fill in all the required fields.
And click Report webspam.
Google will notify you on the status of your complaint via All Messages in the Webmaster Tools.
Few people know, but reporting webspam at Google is one of the only ways for common users to eliminate spam in the Internet.
