Some touchpads have a scrolling bar, which acts similar to a scrolling wheel of a regular mouse. The difference is, the scroll area is not separated from the pointing part, and right-handed people always seem to accidentally scroll instead of moving the mouse cursor. This can be frustrating.
Your touchpad is probably detected by Windows as Microsoft Mouse, and there’s no option to turn off the scrolling.
To disable it, ou need to download the touchpad drivers from your laptop vendor site. If you can’t locate one, download the Synaptics touchpad driver from the company’s site. They dominate the touchpad market, and your portable computer is almost certain compatible.
Install the driver, then go to Control Panel – Mouse settings and disable the scrolling feature.
Check out other options: Synaptics driver has a remarkable collection of enhancements, including gesture control.
