f you’ve encountered an error while trying to log into or unlock your Windows 11 PC using your PIN code, you’re not alone. The error message usually reads, “Something happened, and your PIN isn’t working,” with an option to “Click to set up your PIN again.” However, when you try to resolve the issue, you may face additional problems like a non-functional keypad and a sign-in option that only allows you to use your password.
When you go to the Windows settings to reconfigure your PIN, you might notice that your PIN still appears to be set up and operational, even though it isn’t working. This issue is likely because your PIN was originally configured when your TPM (Trusted Platform Module) was enabled in BIOS. If you disabled TPM later, your PIN may no longer function properly.
The solution is fairly straightforward. If you’ve disabled the TPM module in BIOS and your Windows PIN has stopped working, follow these steps:
Open the PIN settings on your PC.
Remove the existing PIN.
Set up your PIN again — you can use the same digits if you prefer.
Once you’ve done this, the error will stop, and your PIN unlock will start working as expected.
