Don’t use iTunes

If you hate iTunes, don’t use it. Unfortunately, USB file transfer requires some iTunes components, but you could save a lot of system resources.

First, go to Apple website and download the required iTunes install. Now unpack the downloaded .exe file with any archiver, like WinRAR or 7-Zip. You’ll get a bunch of .msi files. You need only two files out of this trash pileAppleApplicationSupport and AppleMobileDeviceSupport.
Run the appropriate 2 .msi files and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
By some eternally stupid reason, this components require QuickTime to run. Maybe even in Apple, given all their think different stuff, don’t know why a driver requires a video codec to run. Anyway, skip the official QuickTime which is a resource hog and install a much trimmer QuickTime Alternative, which is now called QTLite.
That’s all. You only need these three components to access your iDevice via USB. Copy files with any appropriate file manager, like iFunBox.
