Does Virgin Atlantic credit card charge you for purchases not in GBP?
They bloody do, and a lot!
It’s not a flat fee either, it’s a percentage of the purchase, and it appears on the statement AFTER the transaction leaves the pending state as Virgin Atlantic credit card Non-Sterling Trans Fee.
So whenever the checkout does not have a £ pounds sterling (GBP) option and uses any other currency (USD, Euro, AUD…), every purchase will come with a fee on top of a rather unfair exchange rate. And that includes online purchases you make without leaving the country.
This is really sad for a Airline-bound credit card that carters to travelers! So if you have to shop in a currency different to £ for any reason, better use another card.
