Remove red line middle separation video images

f you’ve ever noticed that videos or pictures on your PC appear to be divided into two parts, with a red line running down the middle and the sections of the image looking slightly different, you might be experiencing something called demo mode or A&B comparison mode. This feature is often used to highlight improvements made to images, such as enhanced video quality or image processing adjustments.

This demo mode effect can be caused by two types of software: one that improves video content and another that enhances images. Typically, this issue occurs if you’re using an AMD GPU, as certain versions of AMD’s control software include a demo mode option. When enabled, this causes the red separation line to appear on videos. To fix this, you need to open the AMD Adrenaline software (or whatever it’s called this month), navigate to the video settings, and look for the “demo mode” option. If it’s enabled, simply disable it to remove the red line.

However, this can be tricky because AMD frequently updates the software interface, sometimes removing or adding new features. In some versions, this option may not even exist. If you can’t find the demo mode option or if you’re not using an AMD GPU, and instead have an Intel or Nvidia card, the issue could be something else entirely.

In cases where the red line only appears in your browser, and not on videos but also on images, the culprit might be your browser—specifically, Opera GX. This gaming browser, known for its RGB customization features, includes an enhancement called RGX. When you hover your cursor over a YouTube video, an additional toggle labeled RGX will appear at the top, with options to enable or disable it. RGX upscales videos and images to improve their visual quality.

To resolve the red line issue in Opera GX, simply go to the settings, find the RGX option, and disable it for videos and images. If you want to keep the enhancement but without the red line, untick the “split preview” setting. This will keep the visual improvements active while removing the red separation line.
