Disable “Scan and fix” for removed drives in Windows 7
February 6, 2012 Windows

Sometimes Windows prompts to scan and fix not properly unmounted drives. The problem is, it doesn’t remember that the drive was already scan and prompts for it again and again on every reconnection, which is extremely annoying.

To fix that, simply run

chkdsk d: /f

for that drive. Change the d: to the actual letter of the drive.
That’s it.
