When you try to launch Counter-Strike 2, it throws you an error: unable to load module client error 193.
It will also advise you to verify local game files; however, that doesn’t help. The solution is very simple.
First of all, you have to shut down the non-functional program. Then, open the folder where the Counter-Strike 2 executable is located and look for files that are much older than the rest of the files. In this particular case, the dynamic library file client.dll is much older than the rest of the bunch, and the error message references “client.”
Basically, just delete this file, launch Counter-Strike 2 through Steam, and the game will run just fine. If you try to verify game files after that, this file will still not be downloaded—probably because it’s no longer needed.
If you encounter the same 193 error in Dota 2, it’s worth noting that Counter-Strike 2 now shares the same engine with Dota 2. To fix this issue in Dota 2, navigate to the main folder where the game is located and delete the entire bin folder. After doing that, verify local game files in Steam, and it will re-download the folder. Once completed, the game should launch successfully.
