When using hot keys in CapCut, you may encounter a frustrating issue: they sometimes work, and sometimes don’t. In this post, I’ll be specifically showing the software interface in a language other than English, as this issue tends to occur more frequently for users who speak multiple languages.
The problem lies in the fact that CapCut developers haven’t thoroughly tested their software in non-English languages. If they did, they would have easily identified and fixed this issue, which is commonly addressed in other software. Essentially, CapCut’s hot keys stop functioning when switching between different keyboard layouts or languages. As soon as you change your keyboard language from English to anything else, the hot keys will no longer work. To get them functioning again, you have to switch your input language back to English.
This can be especially annoying when you’re adding text to a video that isn’t in English. Unfortunately, this is the way the software works for now, and the only workaround is to adjust your keyboard language settings back to English. This issue persists regardless of the operating system you’re using. While I’m showing screenshots from the macOS version, the solution is exactly the same for Windows users.
