Why hosting account was disabled for inactivity even if it had visits

Sometimes free hosting providers send you messages like this:
Domain has not received any visitors in last 30 days or it has no index page uploaded / non functional website

But in fact you had a lot of visitors last month!

The reason for this is quite simple. Most probably you have a paid second level domain parked at the hosting provider. All the traffic from your paid domain is diverted to the free third level domain. That is exactly the problem: the hosting provider can’t detect such traffic. That’s why it renders the free domain is inactive, even though analytics show tons of visits to your site.

To avoid blocking of your free hosting account in the future, just visit the free third-level domain yourself. Store the page as your home page in the browser. That will trick the hosting provider counter and your account won’t be blocked for inactivity.
